The NRA CCW course is an immersive two-day program that takes place in both classroom and range settings, offering segmented instruction essential for responsible firearm ownership and self-defense. Students will gain basic defensive pistol skills, including techniques for drawing from concealment, loading, and stoppage remediation. In addition, students will learn about firearm maintenance and participate in sport shooting activities. To meet state requirements for a CCW permit, the course duration may vary, but participants will have the chance to complete live fire training and undertake a nationally standardized shooting qualification under the guidance of an NRA-certified instructor, ultimately earning a course completion certificate.
