This course is designed for participants who are 21 years or older and aims to prepare them for the crucial role of a Range Safety Officer (RSO). Spanning nine hours, this classroom-based course covers essential knowledge and skills, including the roles and responsibilities of an RSO, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the methods for inspecting ranges while enforcing safety rules. Participants will also learn how to conduct effective range briefings, manage emergencies, and handle firearm stoppages and malfunctions. Each participant will receive a student study guide, a basic firearm training program brochure, a gun safety rules brochure, and an instructor application/course evaluation form to enhance their learning experience. This comprehensive training ensures that future RSOs are well-equipped to maintain safety and efficiency at shooting ranges.
